Mission & Vision
We believe access to food is a human right—regardless of zip code, housing status, or immigration status.
MMC facilitates direct access to resources that reflect the cultural practices, health needs, and languages of the communities we serve.
THE TEAM
We are a volunteer-led network committed to mutual aid, community agency, and dignified food access for immigrants, farmworkers, and low-income communities.
Our Story
In March 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 crisis, Mom Chairs—a family-owned event rental business in San Francisco’s Mission District—mobilized to support neighbors with groceries and hot meals. What began as a grassroots effort grew into Mission Meals, a coalition of organizers, health workers, neighbors, and volunteers. In partnership with community groups and local businesses, the coalition has since delivered thousands of groceries and hot meals across the Bay Area.
